Thrombophilia in Pregnancy Clinic –

The collaboration of Dr. Roger Lenke with Dr. Magaral Murali, Dr. Elsayed Aly and Dr. Jennifer Morgan of the Central Indiana Cancer Centers will give you the opportunity to obtain consultations for your pregnant patients with thrombophilia or other high-risk conditions. By combining specialists in hematology, genetics, and maternal-fetal medicine at one site, most evaluations will be accomplished in one day and treatment options will be immediately available.

The clinic’s doctors have special interest in clotting disorders and high-risk pregnancies with particular emphasis on genetics and thrombophilia. The following is a sample of patients that might benefit from an evaluation:

• Patients with hypercoagulable states of both acquired and inherited types.
• Patients with a history of recurrent miscarriages (2 or more) and with no previously identified infertility risk.
• Patients with a history of bleeding disorders in the family who are currently pregnant or desiring to become pregnant.
• Known genetic abnormal states with high-risk pregnancy and clotting disorders.
• Recommendations for antithrombotic therapy or difficult management issues with antithrombotic therapies.
• Pregnant patients with laboratory data indicating possible clotting abnormalities (antiphospholipid syndrome, Factor V deficiency, etc).

The patients will be seen in our clinic and referred back to their primary MDs or referring obstetrician, with recommendations for further care. This is a consultative service but we will be happy to work with you throughout the course of the pregnancy and also during and after delivery
